Avoid the water shortcut
A moisturizer is a finished formulation, not a container of pure water. Even a water-rich formula does not justify assuming the density of water. Our tools keep mass and volume separate rather than presenting an invented cross-unit bargain.
Use valid within-family conversions
Weight ounces can be converted to grams, and US fluid ounces can be converted to mL. Read the “fl” and the declared measurement system carefully. An unspecified “oz” in a retailer title is not enough to decide between them.
Prefer the package declaration when fields conflict
The observed Target CeraVe title says 16 fl oz, but its package image reads 16 OZ (453 g). We record that discrepancy and use the visible 453 g declaration for the conditional mass calculation. Confirm the received label before treating the observation as current.
Before you decide
- Keep g and mL apart
- Check weight oz versus US fl oz
- Flag inconsistent retail fields
